KTS cover the full spectrum of services for tree work ensuring customers have only one point of contact throughout the varying stages of approval, and implementation of works, on receiving an enquiry a mutually convenient time will be arranged to make a visit, you will then be advised on various courses of action, or pruning techniques, and how the tree will respond after these works have been completed, the advise being based on achieving your objectives whilst ensuring the continued good health and safety of the tree, you will be advised if the tree is under any statutory protection, TPO (tree preservation orders), conservation areas, or planning conditions, if they are we can act as your agent in applying for the appropriate consents.

There are various options of maintaining trees, some of the following terms explained may help:-

Crown Lifting – removing the lowest branches from around the bottom of the tree canopy allowing light to penetrate under the canopy of the tree.

Crown Thinning – this is selectively removing a percentage of the branches growing within the crown of the tree to open up the canopy allowing wind to circulate through more easily and thus reduce wind resistance it also allows more light penetration and retains the natural shape of the tree.

Crown cleaning – this is the removal of dead, diseased, weak branches throughout the crown to maintain good health.

Dead wood – the removal of dead wood.

Crown reduction – the reduction of the tree spread by reducing the branches by a specific amount e g. one third or 50%.

Felling – felling the tree in one.

Dismantling – removal of the tree in small sections e g: in confined spaces

Stump grinding – removal of the stump by means of a grinder so the area can be landscaped or re turfed etc.

Hedges – these can be reduced and shaped to your requirements and are trimmed for tidiness.

Planting – we can supply and plant trees to give different flowers, berries, leaves etc.

Woodchips / mulch – this is after the branches have been processed through a machine which chops it up small.

Logs – logs can be purchased for burning on fires, but can also be used for several other purposed, we have in the past sold them for stepping stones, used in shop window displays, obstacles at indoor motor bike trials, the list for log usage is never ending.

Consultancy – We have our own in house consultant trained and insured to provide tree surveys and reports for mortgages.

Contracts – We are able to set up annual maintenance contracts.
